Starting as recreational gymnasts, they became competitive gymnasts, coaches, judges, and directors. They have over 55 combined years of experience in the sport. Mr. Thaddeus and Miss Ronda met while teaching at Prestige Gymnastics in 1997 and were soon married. They have two daughters, Saranda (10 yrs) and Aislinn (7 yrs), and a son, Maclean (4 yrs). Since the day they met, they have dreamed of opening their own gymnastics school.

Ronda Abbott

Miss Ronda has devoted her career to teaching children and promoting healthy, physical, mental, and emotional development of youth through athletics. She has received extensive training in teaching and coaching techniques and has earned both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s Degree in Education. She completed her graduate studies in Sport Management in preparation for opening a family-owned gymnastics school.

Miss Ronda began her own gymnastics career at the Hanover YMCA. She entered the program as a recreational gymnast, which eventually lead to participation as a competitive gymnast for 5 years. Miss Ronda continued her competitive career at Perna’s Gymnastics in Westminster, MD, where she participated as an optional gymnast for three years. Upon high school graduation, she attended the United States Naval Academy, where she was instrumental in founding the women’s club gymnastics program as a competitor and team officer.

From 1988 to 1992, Miss Ronda taught recreational classes and worked at summer camps for Perna’s Gymnastics. In 1995, while completing her undergraduate studies at Millersville University, she resumed coaching gymnastics at Prestige Gymnastics in Lancaster, PA. At Prestige, she taught preschool, recreational, and cheer and coached the compulsory team. Upon graduation, Miss Ronda moved to Albuquerque, NM, where she worked full-time as a teacher of mathematics at Albuquerque High School. While in Albuquerque, Miss Ronda also worked as a preschool and recreational instructor for Albuquerque School of Gymnastics. In 1999, she and Mr. Thaddeus moved back to the East Coast to start a family. During their short stay in Maryland, Miss Ronda continued her teaching career as a part-time mathematics teacher. She also taught preschool and recreational gymnastics classes and was a compulsory and optional team coach for United Gymnastix.

In August of 2004, Miss Ronda received her Master of Education degree from Millersville University with a 4.0 GPA. The program allowed for Miss Ronda to tailor all projects and studies to her intention of owning and operating her own gymnastics facility. It proved to be an invaluable experience to work directly with her professors to develop a risk management manual, a facility design, and techniques for athletic injury prevention. During her graduate education, Miss Ronda also received certification in Sport Psychology from the American Sport Education Program.

Miss Ronda is currently teaching Mathematics at York County School of Technology.

Thaddeus Abbott

Mr. Thaddeus has been involved in gymnastics since the age of five. He started in a recreational gymnastics class at Gym Hutt Gymnastics in Lakeville, MA in 1979. Mr. Thaddeus soon became part of Gym Hutt’s first competitive gymnastics team, and it was at Gym Hutt that he developed his basic skill foundation and fell in love with the sport of gymnastics. In 1986, at the age of twelve, Mr. Thaddeus’s family moved to Pennsylvania where he continued his gymnastics career as a member of John Pancott’s Gymnastics Center in Malvern, PA. There, Mr. Thaddeus began his competitive career as an optional level gymnast under the tutelage of John Pancott, member of the 1960 and 1964 Great Britain Olympic Team. While at Pancott’s, Mr. Thaddeus was a member of the 1988 USA Exhibition Team to the World's Fair in Brisbane, Australia. Mr. Pancott was, and still is, a great inspiration in Mr. Thaddeus’s life. Not only did Mr. Pancott facilitate his enjoyment of the sport as a competitive athlete, but he also gave Mr. Thaddeus the opportunity to see the joy and benefits gymnastics brings to children by offering him the chance to coach recreational classes. This was Mr. Thaddeus’s first introduction to teaching, and he has been teaching ever since. Upon graduating from West Chester East High School in 1992, Mr. Thaddeus attended The Ohio State University where he walked on to the men’s gymnastics team under 1996 and 2000 United States Olympic head coach Peter Korman. Mr. Thaddeus was a letter winner and team member of the 1992 Big Ten Champions.

In 1995, Mr. Thaddeus moved back to Pennsylvania and began teaching at Prestige Gymnastics in Lancaster. There, in 1997, he became the youngest coach on the Senior National Coaching Staff for USA Gymnastics by having an athlete place on the Senior National Team at the USA Championships. This position offered Mr. Thaddeus the opportunity to experience international competition. He was privileged to represent the United States at the International Team Championships (USA v. CHN v. ROM) and USA v. CAN in 1996 and 1997 as a personal coach of a Junior National Team Member. Then, as a Senior National Staff Member, Mr. Thaddeus traveled to Adelaide, Australia as the assistant coach for USA v. AUS and Canberra, Australia, where he was the head coach for the United States at the Canberra Cup. One of Mr. Thaddeus’s most decorated athletes eventually became a two-time NCAA All-Around Champion and a member of the 2000 United States Olympic Team.

In the fall of 1997, Mr. Thaddeus moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to teach at Albuquerque Gymnastics School. He was the Assistant Head Men’s Coach and taught preschool, recreational, and boys’ team classes. In 1998, Mr. Thaddeus was voted New Mexico’s Optional Coach of the Year. In 1999, he moved back to the East Coast with Miss Ronda to start a family. During a one-year stay in Maryland, United Gymnastix employed him as Head Coach of Men’s gymnastics. There, he taught preschool, recreational, and boys’ and girls’ team classes. Mr. Thaddeus and his family then moved back to Pennsylvania, where he attended Millersville University and received his Bachelor of Science in Education. While completing his degree, he worked part time for Central Pennsylvania Academy of Gymnastics and Artistic Sports Academy Plus in Harrisburg, PA. He helped the Head Men’s Coach, owner, and PA State Director with the continued progress of his boys’ team. While working in Harrisburg, Mr. Thaddeus was appointed to the Junior National Coaching Staff for USA Gymnastics. He provided educational opportunities to the men’s coaching, parent, and athlete community, and he presented at and helped organize the National Men’s Coaches Workshop held at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO from 2001-2004.

While preparing to open Champions Training Center, Mr. Thaddeus taught Mathematics at York County School of Technology. He is currently home schooling his children and working full-time where he loves to be… the gym!
